Capital Campaign

droliver_and_titleThe Wesley Glen Ministries Board of Trustees and our foundation officers have unanimously agreed to support this $10 million Capital Campaign to build our endowment, eliminate our debt, and construct a Life Skills Center for our residents. As evidence of their commitment, gifts and pledges from board members are now approaching $500,000.

In June of 2006, we formally announced our Capital Campaign with a presentation to the annual conference of the South Georgia Conference of The United Methodist Church. The delegates, representing more than 600 congregations, unanimously approved this initiative and pledged their support to our fundraising efforts.

As of today, May 7, 2010, pledged gifts now total over $5,000,000, which is a grand beginning. Because of our initial gifts, we were able to build the Life Skills Center. The Center had its grand opening on November 27, 2009.

For the parents of a child who is mentally disabled, one of the most profound questions to be faced is that of who will take care of that child when the parents are no longer able to do so. Wesley Glen's promise to those parents and to our community is that we will provide this care. Through this campaign, "Our Residents... Our Reason," we are turning to the Macon community, The United Methodist Church, and other friends, asking that you help us build a firm financial foundation and an important new facility that will support our ministry and enable us to fulfill our promise to our residents, their families, and our community.
